During his interview, Yeo Jin Goo was asked about his acting abilities, how one can do well in acting, and how he’s improved over the years.

Q: How can someone be good at acting?

Oh, this is quite ambiguous. I’ve been acting for a long time, and I haven’t learned properly before entering the university. Still, if I explain it to the extent I think it is, I believe having senses in acting is important. Even if it’s the same scene, everyone will play it differently. Ultimately, it’s controlled by one’s own sense, so anyone can act, and if you do it for a long time, you will improve. When you look at senior actors with a lot of experience, they have sharpened and polished their senses to express their own unique style. I believe that if acting is a dream of yours, it’s good to start as soon as you can.

The interviewer then asked Yeo Jin Goo how he has improved in his own acting through the dramas he has starred in.

Q: What do you think led you to a new level?

The 2019 dramas ‘The Crowned Clown’ and ‘Hotel Del Luna’ are meaningful to me. As I went through these two works, I became active and I also developed good determination.

Going into further detail, Yeo Jin Goo revealed exactly how the two dramas exactly pushed him into becoming a better actor.

In ‘The Crowned Clown,’ it was very challenging to play two roles at once, but it gave me a chance to get a sense of how I act. ‘Hotel Del Luna’ was a project in which I felt like I could praise myself. I realized that it was okay to act the way I wanted and still receive a lot of love and praise. It was so overwhelming then.

The interviewer became curious about how Yeo Jin felt about his acting skills before ‘Hotel Del Luna’ and ‘The Crowned Clown.’

Before, I was in a slump that wasn’t quite a slump. I listened and received praise while continuing to work, but I wasn’t satisfied with myself because I had no choice but to get help from the director and seniors. But with ‘Hotel Del Luna’ and ‘The Crowned Clown,’ I did my own analysis into the scene, made more opinions, and did what I prepared. It was my first time acting like that, and I learned a lot. It made me excited to start work on the next project.
