Actress Jun Ji Hyun Confesses Why She Has Never Used Social Media

During an interview with a media outlet for the film Colony, actress Jun Ji Hyun revealed why she doesn’t use any social media.

Jun Ji Hyun, who will celebrate her 30th debut anniversary next year, began her career as a model in 1997 and has worked as an actress ever since.

However, while there has been a trend of actresses becoming YouTubers, Jun does not operate any social media accounts.

During the interview, she confessed to the reason why she didn’t use social media.

“It’s because I’m afraid I might make a mistake. It’s just one of the simple reasons. Maybe it’s because I’ve been active since I was young, I’m not used to showing myself, and I don’t feel comfortable doing so.

I know that times have changed, and my friends might be used to it, but I don’t feel comfortable. I don’t think there is a need to be comfortable. There are friends who are fine showing that side, but there are those who aren’t.”

When asked if she ever thought about opening a YouTube channel like other celebrities, she responded, “I lack confidence. I just want to keep doing what I’m good at.”

She also honestly revealed her burden regarding disclosing her personal life.

To be honest, I am not comfortable talking about myself. People might be curious, as it’s been a long time since I’ve appeared on shows, and I haven’t had a lot of chances to share my story. But I am here to promote my work, so I don’t think it’s right to put the focus on me.
