On March 1, Aju Economy reported that Kim Tae Hee, Lee Byung Hun, and Kwon Sang Woo were investigated by tax authorities and were found to owe hundreds of millions of KRW in backed taxes.

According to the report, tax authorities opened a special investigation into the taxes of the actress and her former agency, Lua Entertainment, in 2021.  Lua Entertainment was founded by Kim Tae Hee’s older sister in 2009. Kim Tae Hee was with Lua Entertainment until 2019.

After the report was released, Kim Tae Hee’s agency, Story J Company, released a statement denying that Kim Tae Hee had evaded paying taxes.

Kim Tae Hee has faithfully paid her taxes according to tax laws. This audit took place because, around the time Kim Tae Hee’s contract with her former agency was ending, a payment for a modeling campaign arrived late.
