Actress Lim Ji Yeon Will Star In A Historical K-Drama As The Leading Role For The First Time

From playing the villainous Yeon Jin to the daughter of a lowly servant… what’s next?

Actress Lim Ji Yeon recently rose to fame with the hit Netflix K-Drama The Glory and was praised for her phenomenal acting. Soon, we will be able to see Lim Ji Yeon in another K-Drama—this time a historical one!

On May 17, an exclusive report from StarNews revealed that Lim Ji Yeon would be starring in JTBC‘s new historical K-Drama 옥씨부인전, which translates into The Story of Lady Ok. She will play the female lead, the daughter of a lowly servant but earns the envy and admiration of others as she rises to power after marrying a nobleman. The show tells a compelling tale of survival and success for a woman servant in the Joseon era.

This isn’t the first time Lim Ji Yeon acted in a historical production. In 2015, she was in the movie The Treacherous; the following year, she was in SBS’s The Royal Gambler. This will be her third historical production.
