ADOR’s Legal Team Files Withdrawal In NewJeans’ Danielle Lawsuit

“Every method in their playbook…”

On April 24, ADOR‘s legal representatives from law firm Kim & Chang submitted a notice of withdrawal from the ongoing ₩43.1 billion KRW (about $29.2 million USD) damages lawsuit against former NewJeans member Danielle.

The notice was filed with the Seoul Central District Court, where ADOR is the plaintiff in a case against Danielle, a family member, and former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin.

A lawyer withdrawing from a case doesn’t automatically signal anything dramatic, but the timing is what’s raising eyebrows.

— Legal timeline update

The next hearing in the case is scheduled for May 14, less than three weeks away. With ADOR now needing to appoint a new legal representative, the move could temporarily delay their ability to respond and potentially push back the proceedings.

Any postponement directly impacts Danielle, whose career has been in limbo since ADOR terminated her exclusive contract in December 2025. She currently has no label, no group, and a multi-billion-won lawsuit hanging over her. Every delay stretches that uncertainty out longer.

Many fans online are pointing out that ADOR has already shown a willingness to slow-walk the process. At the first hearing in March, Danielle’s legal team called them out for exactly that, arguing that the delays were intentional and harmful to her during what should be the peak years of her career.

The next scheduled hearings remain May 14 and July 2. Whether those dates hold now remains to be seen.
