Aespa’s “Supernova” Encore Live Vocals On “Music Core” Are A Breath Of Fresh Air
For this last week’s episode of Music Core, which aired on May 25, aespa was pitted against IVE and Zico for the music show award. Besides the “digital + physical” category, the girl group earned the most points in each of the other three categories (“video + broadcast”, “pre-voting”, and “live voting”), and ended up taking home the trophy with 7,167 points!
As with most wins on music shows, the members of aespa were then tasked with singing an encore of their winning song with little to no backing vocals or support. This has been a stressful and somewhat controversial practice recently with how many different artists have struggled to get through their encore performances smoothly, but that wasn’t a worry for aespa!
The four members looked calm and confident as they sang “Supernova”, proving once again to be another vocally strong group to come from SM Entertainment.
Their performance earned them a post on an online public forum, with netizens gushing over just how well they did and how refreshing it is to see idols perform and encore without looking terrified.
