Actor, singer and a member of boy group ASTRO Cha Eunwoo’s advertising model contract with LG Uplus has ended.
According to industry sources on the 6th, the advertising model contract between LG Uplus and its representative model Cha Eunwoo has been terminated. Cha Eunwoo had been active as the LG Uplus campaign model since 2024.
Last year, Cha Eun Woo underwent an intensive tax investigation by the Seoul Regional Tax Office’s Investigation Division 4 and was notified of a tax assessment totaling about ₩20.0 billion KRW (about $13.7 million USD) in income tax and others. This is known as the largest amount in celebrity tax evasion cases to date.
However, LG Uplus stated that the contract ended due to the expiration of the term. LG Uplus reportedly said, “There are currently no plans to discuss or pursue contract renewal.”
