Beloved Actress Opens Up About Tragically Suffering Third Miscarriage Days Before Due Date

Actress Park Si Eun has shared the emotional story of losing her baby just weeks before giving birth. Speaking at a recent lecture for CBS’s Hello 2025: Together, A New Beginning event, the 44-year-old actress opened up about her third miscarriage, which occurred in 2022.

Park, who married fellow actor Jin Tae Hyun in 2015, has an adopted college-aged daughter. She revealed that the tragic loss came only 20 days before her expected delivery, leaving her and her husband in deep emotional pain.

About two years ago, I went through something painful. I didn’t get to meet my baby, who was full-term, and had to send them to heaven. At that moment, I was completely overwhelmed by shock and deep sorrow.

Recalling the moment, Park described the heartbreak of saying goodbye to a child she never got to meet. The loss left her feeling shattered. However, she noted that her husband’s steadfast support became her source of strength.

Even though he was struggling so much himself, all he did was focus on me, take care of me, and protect me. To this day, I can’t forget the look in his eyes and the expression on his face. They say that happiness doubles when shared, and sorrow is halved when shared. That’s exactly how we were able to get back up—by depending on each other and sharing the pain.

The actress also explained how they worked together to move forward.

We agreed on one thing: To not harbor resentment toward anyone, not to look for someone to blame. Blaming someone is actually very easy, but it doesn’t change anything. So, I chose not to even blame myself. Instead, I decided to cherish the nine months I spent with my baby, which were filled with genuine happiness. I resolved to live on, remembering all those times. And as many of you know, while recovering from my grief, I began running. That was my way of choosing to move forward, step by step.
