BIGBANG Seungri's Advice to BLACKPINK on How to Deal With a Scandal

BIGBANG Seungri‘s advice to deal with a scandal is gaining attention, following BLACKPINK Jennie‘s scandal with EXO Kai.

On the 1st of January, Dispatch released news to the public that BLACKPINK Jennie and EXO Kai were in a relationship, along with pictures of them on a date at Sky Park.

In July of 2018, an episode of ‘My Ugly Duckling’ aired where Seungri gave BLACKPINK advice on how to deal with scandals and Yang Hyunsuk (president of YG) after a scandal.

Seungri told BLACKPINK that if they wake up to hundreds of text messages, it means something has happened.

In that case, don’t read straight away and drink a cup of water. With every text message you read, your throat will get drier and your back will get damp from sweating.

After you have a cup of water, then read. Read one and breathe. It might become hard to breathe. I hope it won’t happen to BLACKPINK, but if you do get involved in a rumour, you have to endure with your willpower.

He also warned them that while it’s ok to date, because that’s how they’ll be able to sing love songs, they shouldn’t get caught.

BLACKPINK then asked Seungri if they’d get told off if they got caught, and Seungri jokingly explained the process to them.

If a scandal gets leaked, you get called to the meeting room on the 6th floor or the chairman’s office on the 7th floor.

The 6th floor is not too bad. You get a lecture and then sent home. If you get called to the 7th floor, wear thick clothes. I wore winter clothes even if it was middle of Summer.

Look at what the president [Yang Hyunsuk] is wearing. If he’s wearing soft slippers, that’s a relief.

He mentioned that he was exaggerating the story for laughs.

Seungri then said he’d give BLACKPINK a useful tip for handling YG President Yang Hyunsuk when meeting with him.

Jennie can be seen saying “I think I need it the most.”

Seungri’s tip was that they should start the conversation with a compliment.

If you see the president, start off with a compliment. As soon as you open the door, say “wow, you’ve lost weight.”

Keep this tip to yourself. The best compliment nowadays is to tell him his hair looks very voluminous.
