On January 25, Jennie made a surprise cameo in the teaser for “Shinigami Eyes.” The song’s title is a reference to the manga and anime series, Death Note. In the series, Shinigami eyes allow people to see how long other people have left to live.

Jennie only appeared in the teaser for a second, so fans were eager to see more of her when the full video dropped on January 26. As always, Jennie did not disappoint!

In the video, Jennie is shown posing next to Grimes on a futuristic spaceship.

In a real art-imitates-life moment, the two pose for selfies while standing on the spaceship. Could this be a reference to the time they posed in front of rockets together while hanging out?

Although the video’s sci-fi meets anime meets fantasy aesthetic is markedly different from anything we’ve ever seen from Jennie, she nailed the concept!

BLINKs praised Jennie for how well she fit the concept and for how great she looked in the “Shinigami Eyes” music video.
