Since leaving YG Entertainment, Lisa’s solo career has reached new heights. Along with releasing more music, the idol has also performed in numerous places as a solo act, including Coachella, the Global Citizen Festival, and major industry awards shows like The Oscars.

Most recently, it was revealed that the idol was signed by FIFA ahead of the World Cup.

FIFA is planning to hold opening ceremonies for the first games of the World Cup featuring host nations this summer, as well as special ceremonies to mark America’s 250th anniversary at games in Houston and Philadelphia on July 4. It is assumed that the idol will perform during one of the matches, as shared on X.

While many were excited, some soccer fans reacted after a past interaction with South Korean soccer player Son Heung Min. When Lisa attended a match and performed the coin toss in 2025, Son “ignored” the idol.

Soccer fans repeatedly commented this to mock the idol, along with other complaints.

Additionally, many accused Lisa of “copying” BTS’s Jungkook, who performed at the World Cup in Qatar in 2022.

Still, fans reminded that Lisa is one of the top performers in K-Pop with a global audience, which likely influenced her being selected.
