BLACKPINK’s Outfits And Styling For Their “Shut Down” Performance On “Inkigayo” Receives Criticism From Netizens
When it comes to the members of BLACKPINK, throughout the years, they have wowed netizens with their on-stage outfits. Whether it’s a music show, concert, or a global festival, the members have shined in outfits that suit their concept but also allow their personalities to shine.
In particular, even after the release of their latest album Born Pink, the members showcased their style and charisma in the music video for their title track, “Shut Down.”
Recently, the group had their first music show performance of their recent track “Shut Down.” Considering that it might be one of the only performances on a Korean music show that fans get to see, many were anticipating the performance.
As expected, the members completely shined during their performance. Not only did they showcase their immense talent and visuals, but they also continued to prove why their on-stage presence is unrivaled.
Yet, it seems as if fans have had mixed opinions about the outfits, particularly international netizens.
Although all the members looked amazing, many pointed out that they didn’t seem up to the same standard seen in the past, particularly when compared to the music video. Jennie and Lisa had the brightest looks, with Jennie’s resembling a “uniform” look and Lisa combining style with a more sports-based design.
Many then added that Jisoo and Rosé‘s seemed more basic, with Rosé’s looking like a normal outfit worn on a day-to-day basis and Jisoo’s being one color with nothing to make it stand out.
When the photos were released, international netizens raised disappointed with the outfits.
For many, they didn’t see it as looks from one of the biggest K-Pop agencies in Korea, YG Entertainment. They also pointed out that they seemed thrown together without any effort to try something new or as dynamic as the track.
Yet, along with the issues about the outfits being “underwhelming” considering the fame of BLACKPINK, many international fans pointed out a distinct lack of cohesion between all four looks.
Although the members have their own styles, many pointed out that the outfits looked like they belonged to four different concepts
Yet, despite the criticism, netizens believe that BLACKPINK continued to shine and showcased that their visuals and talent could easily make people completely forget about the outfits.
