BLACKPINK’s Rosé Reveals How Jennie’s Experience As A Soloist Shaped Her Support For “R”

Jennie was fully supportive of Rosé!

BLACKPINK‘s Rosé sat down for an interview with Billboard via Zoom. She touched on several different subjects from her thoughts on Jisoo‘s and Lisa‘s future solo activities to her reaction to Britney Spears using BLACKPINK’s song.

She also delved deeper into how grateful she is to her members for their endless support before and during her promotions for R, her album. As the first member who released a solo song, Jennie‘s advice stood out as it came from first-hand experience.

I think she knew that I had it all together and knew where I was going. I think she knew that I would need a lot of support, too. You only know how it feels to be in that position if you’ve been in that position.

It was the little things that counted the most! Whether it was small gifts or short messages, they all meant a great deal to Rosé.

She was trying to support me on the side and give me little presents here and there and check up on how I’m doing.

From her own “SOLO” promotions, Jennie was aware of how important it was to receive encouragement from friends: “She knew how much of a help it is when somebody does reach out.”

In Rosé’s live broadcast on the day R was released, Jennie sent her heartfelt congratulations and asked that she take care of herself.

Hi Rosie posie, finally today has come. Congratulations, I’m so so happy for you! I know how long you’ve been waiting to release your magical voice to the world and since I had the privilege to hear the songs first, I know everybody is going to love it. Don’t forget to take care of yourself, your body, and Hank.

— Jennie

Their friendship is everything!
