BoA Faces Real-Life Malicious Attacks All Over Seoul

Malicious attacks and appearance criticisms targeting singer BoA are causing distress among her fans.

Recently, malicious graffiti aimed at BoA was repeatedly found at bus stops and billboards around Gangnam Station, Sinnonhyeon Station, and Yeoksam-daero in Seoul. Photos of the graffiti spread shockingly through online communities and social media.

In particular, some fans, worried that BoA might see these messages herself, voluntarily shared videos of themselves erasing the graffiti, adding to the sorrow. Similar graffiti has also been reported in areas like Gwangjin-gu and Gangdong-gu, raising further concerns.

What’s even more unfortunate is that BoA has already opened up about the emotional pain she has endured over the years due to malicious comments and various controversies.

Previously, she was embroiled in a controversy after mentioning Park Na Rae during a live drinking broadcast with Jun Hyun Moo and issued a direct apology.

Later, through a fan communication platform, she candidly shared, “Over the past few years, I have gone through difficult times not only professionally but personally.”

At that time, BoA confessed, “The world changes, and I change too. As these changes come all at once, I repeatedly questioned whether this place is truly where I belong.” She even surprised fans by posting on her personal social media, “I guess it’s okay to retire when my contract ends.” She later corrected it as a typo but hinted at complex feelings by mentioning the contract period specifically.

Meanwhile, BoA recently ended her 25-year partnership with SM Entertainment and announced a fresh start by establishing her own one-person agency.

On the 23rd, BoA shared a video showcasing a new short blonde hairstyle. In the video, she exudes bright energy with a free-spirited vibe, wearing outfits that highlight her figure.

However, some netizens continued to comment on her appearance with remarks like, “She looks a bit different,” and “Long hair suits her better.” Meanwhile, fans have been sending supportive messages such as, “Goddess BoA,” “BoA is so cute,” “Don’t mind the comments, unnie,” and “BoA is the prettiest.”

Having once shared her contemplation about retirement, BoA is now beginning a new leap with her independence. Yet, as appearance judgments and malicious reactions continue, voices calling for support and an end to hateful comments are growing louder, saying, “Isn’t it time to cheer her on more?” and “Please stop the malicious comments.”
