On July 28, Taesan uploaded three new photos on the group’s official X (formerly Twitter) account. In the images, the idol is seen wearing a bandana, stylish eyewear, and grillz — a look that was initially well-received by fans.

However, once the photos began circulating outside BOYNEXTDOOR’s fandom, they sparked backlash and accusations of copying Tarzzan’s signature style.

Tarzzan, known for his heavy “hip hop” aesthetic, has gained notoriety online due to his bold fashion choices, including baggy clothes, grillz, and braided hairstyles. While some fans admire his unique image, he has also drawn criticism and gained accusations of racism.

Many international fans were quick to point out the similarities between his look and Taesan’s recent post, implying that Taesan was attempting to emulate him.

Korean netizens seemingly also shared similar sentiments.

However, BOYNEXTDOOR fans were quick to jump to Taesan’s defense. Many fans pointed out that Taesan has been wearing grillz and adopting similar poses and fashion for years — long before Tarzzan gained recognition. Some even dismissed the comparison altogether, calling it baseless and exaggerated.

Meanwhile, Tarrzan recently sparked a huge controversy online after fans accused the ALLDAY PROJECT member of saying the “n-word” while rapping along to a song.
