BTS Breaks Record For Highest Album Sales In Gaon Chart History

Congrats to BTS!

Gaon Chart announced on March 12 KST, that BTS had sold 4,114,843 copies of their new album MAP OF THE SOUL: 7 for the month of February. This is impressive in that the release of their new album was on February 21, meaning that this number counted sales from only nine days in February.

They not only hit the highest sales for monthly sales, but also for the highest yearly sales in the history of the Gaon Chart.

They broke their previous record of having the highest monthly (3,229,032) and yearly sales (3,718,230) with their 2019 album Map of the Soul: Persona.

In addition, they have broken their own Guinness World Record for having the best-selling album in Korea, which was previously given to Map of the Soul: Persona, last year.

BTS is continuing to break records with every comeback. They are now the first Korean artists to have four albums hit number one on the Billboard 200 chart. They have also become the first Korean group to rank number four on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with their newest title track “ON.”

Congrats to BTS!
