Congrats to BTS!

The Guinness Book of World Records releases a new book every year in about 30 languages in 100 countries. The Jim Pattison Group in Canada currently owns the Guinness World Records with the headquarters located in London.

They have recently announced the records that have made it into the book for the year 2019. Among the many great records this year, they revealed that BTS had broken many records for 2019. The first record broken by BTS was for “the most-watched video in less than 24 hours on YouTube.” BTS’s “Boy with Luv” music video from April hit around 80 million views on YouTube within the first 24 hours.

The second record was for “the most-watched music video in less than 24 hours” and the third record for “the most-watched K-Pop music video in 24 hours.” They also broke these records with the “Boy with Luv” music video.

The fourth record is for “Largest album sales in Korea,” selling around 4 million copies worldwide with their Map of the Soul: Persona album released in April. The fifth record is “the fastest account to reach one million followers on TikTok.” BTS opened their account on September 25 and reached one million followers in less than three hours.

The sixth record is for “the most retweeted tweet” and the seventh record for “the most followed Twitter account.”

The Guinness Book of World Records revealed that BTS holds many more world records in addition to the records mentioned. BTS has been continuously breaking world records for the past few years now, and it’s no different for this year.
