BTS J-Hope Achieves Highest Entry To Billboard 200 As Solo K-Pop Artist

Looks like another notch in J-Hope’s belt.

BTS‘s J-Hope has already been taking the world by storm with the release of his mixtape, Hope World. Well, it looks like the rapper has set another record by becoming the highest charting K-Pop solo artist on the Billboard 200 chart!

Only 4 other K-pop solo artists have been able to break into the Billboard 200 chart; former record-holder Taeyang (#112), Jonghyun (#117), BoA (#127), and G-Dragon (#161).

He debuted on the Billboard 200 chart at #63 for the week.

According to Nielson Music, 9,000 equivalent album units were earned in the first week. Of that number, 8,000 were in traditional album sales. Keep in mind, Hope World basically achieved this feat within 24 hours, even while the mixtape was offered for free on Soundcloud!

J-Hope was also seen on the World Albums Chart at #1, the Top Album Sales chart at #16, the World Digital Song Sales chart at #3, the Artist 100 chart at #97, and the Emerging Artists chart at #3.

Congratulations on all of your success, J-Hope!
