“From admiring [him] to working with him, this is huge…”

Much like BTS’s oldest member Jin, who also prepared a special farewell song for fans before his enlistment, J-Hope intends for his new song to serve as a “meaningful gift to everyone who supports [him].

Hello,

This is BIGHIT MUSIC.

We are happy to inform you that BTS member J-Hope will be releasing a solo single “on the street”.

J-Hope wrote the track to share his candid feelings toward his fans. The title “on the street” refers to J-Hope’s roots—street dance—from which his dream to become an artist began, and the path the artist and fans will continue to walk together.

We hope that J-Hope’s “on the street” serves as a meaningful gift to everyone who supports the artist. Please look forward to J-Hope’s new song!

The highly anticipated single release was pleasantly unexpected, and fans were shocked when the newly released teaser revealed that there was another surprise for ARMYs in store.

To make the release even more meaningful, the end of the new 40-second music video trailer revealed that J-Hope’s idol, iconic American rapper and record producer J. Cole, would be featured on “On The Street.”

J-Hope has long admired and been inspired by J. Cole and has made references to him in BTS’s music. BTS even recorded their own version of J. Cole’s hit “Born Sinner” in 2013, which was officially released on their PROOF album in 2022 as “Born Singer.”

J-Hope finally met J. Cole during 2022 Lollapalooza, where he was able to chat with him briefly, during which J-Hope revealed what an honor it was to meet his idol and referred to J. Cole as his muse.

Their song “On The Street” will be released at 2 PM on Friday, March 3, 2023 (KST).
