“Use This In Prison!” Civilian Throws Cash In Actor Yoo Ah In’s Face

It came out of nowhere.

Recently, actor Yoo Ah In‘s appearance in court gained attention after a citizen threw money at him.

On the morning of September 21, a pre-trial detention hearing was held at the Seoul Central District Court for Yoo Ah In and his friend, A, who are facing charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act for possession of drugs, destruction of evidence, and fleeing.

As Yoo Ah In headed towards the court, he spoke to the reporters.

I apologize once again for causing continuous concern. I will answer sincerely in court and speak honestly.

After completing the detention hearing and leaving the court, Yoo Ah In briefly answered reporters’ questions and proceeded to a police vehicle. During this process, a citizen caused a commotion by throwing something at the actor.

Yoo Ah In was walking with his hands tied together when a man threw a wad of money above his head. When the citizen threw the money, he yelled at Yoo Ah In to “use this money in prison.”

The money thrown were ₩1,000 KRW (about $0.75 USD), ₩5,000 KRW (about $3.75 USD), and ₩10,000 KRW (about $7.51 USD) bills.

Yoo Ah In didn’t react and quickly boarded the vehicle with a poker face expression.

This wasn’t the first time a civilian threw something at Yoo Ah In after his drug scandal. In May, a civilian threw a coffee bottle at Yoo Ah In, causing him to turn around in shock.

According to the prosecution, Yoo Ah In is accused of regularly using medical narcotics such as propofol worth a total of ₩500 million KRW (about $375,000 USD) at hospitals in Seoul from 2020.
