BTS Jimin’s “The Tonight Show” Hanbok Suit To Be Auctioned For 5 Million Won
The outfit that BTS’ Jimin wore during a performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon will be put up for auction!
He wore the hanbok suit during their performance of “Idol,” their kick-off song for that night’s show, which was filmed at the Gyeongbokgung Palace in Seoul.
The hanbok suit, designed by Kim Rieul, will be held for auction virtually via Myart Auction. The bidding will begin on April 22 and the starting price is ₩5.00 million KRW (about $4,480 USD).
The reason it’s called a hanbok suit is because Kim Rieul took inspiration from the traditional Korean hanbok to create the beautiful red and black suit Jimin was seen wearing that night. Kim Rieul has also designed hanbok suits for other artists, such as MONSTA X and Song Ga-in, and has received high praise for his work.
Myart Auction specializes in antique artworks but often includes Kim Rieul’s hanbok suit designs. This year, there are over 50 works of modern and ancient art being auctioned, including Jimin’s hanbok suit. The auction will be held from April 22 to 29, and those interested in participating must sign up via Myart Auction’s website beforehand.
BTS’ clothes and accessories have done very well in auctions in the past, which probably comes as no surprise. Earlier this year, their pastel outfits they wore in their “Dynamite” music video sold for $162,500 USD at a charity auction, so there’s no telling how much Jimin’s hanbok suit will eventually go for!
