Leading up to its release, the MV teaser was released, revealing that American rapper Latto would be featured on the track, shocking netizens.

Yet, some pointed out that V‘s character, TATA, from BTS and LINE FRIENDSBT21 appeared to be in her “Put It On Da Floor Again” music video. Maybe it was a sign…

Likewise, Latto’s last album was titled 777. The number 7 is important to BTS, and “Seven” is Jungkook’s song. So, it appears meant to be.

Now that “Seven,” featuring Latto, has finally been released, some might still be curious how this unexpected collaboration came about…

Originally, there were rumors that Ice Spice was the first choice for the feature, but she was busy. She recently collaborated with Nicki Minaj for the Barbie soundtrack.

Jungkook has since spoken about how Latto was chosen as his featured artist. In his Spotify audio liner, he explained that he felt Latto and his “voices matched well.”

When I heard the song, some artists came to my mind, but I felt that Latto would do the best. So, we requested her for featuring and she gladly accepted. I felt our voices matched well, so I want to just really say ‘thank you’ to Latto.

Since many were shocked by the sexual lyrics in “Seven,” Jungkook was even asked about that aspect in his interview with Variety. He responded professionally concerning questions about Latto’s rap.

Jungkook also spoke about Latto’s contribution to “Seven” during his live broadcast. He revealed that she agreed to feature immediately.

Latto featured in this song. I searched for a rapper who would be well-suited to the song and I thought Latto would fit well. So, I contacted her and she agreed without hesitation, so I think the music video and the song came out nicely…
