BTS Jungkook‘s debut album, Golden, will be released this week, and fans have been eagerly consuming all content related to the drop.
Over the last few months, Jungkook has released multiple singles that will be featured on the album, including “SEVEN” and “3D,” with all of the tracks sharing a similar trait that not everyone has been a fan of — being entirely in English.
Jungkook is not alone in facing criticism over English song lyrics — netizens recently showed distaste for the number of English lyrics in songs by groups like NewJeans, BLACKPINK, and BTS.
It seems Jungkook is at least partly aware of this issue due to a statement during a recent interview with PICKCON.
While talking about Golden, Jungkook mentioned that the album was prepared for the overseas market, which is why it is all in English.
Jungkook continues by saying that he has always wanted to challenge himself musically and that Korean language songs would be coming shortly.
While the debate is sure to continue, there’s no doubt that fans will love Jungkook’s releases no matter what language they are released in!
Jungkook actually had a negative opinion on one of his songs, which you can read about below.
