BTS Is Mentioned During P. Diddy’s Trial — Here’s Why

One of the most significant recent cases in music history is the ongoing P. Diddy trial. P. Diddy, a massive name in hip-hop music and history, is currently on trial for charges including racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution.

The case is extremely high-profile and has been documented only by courtroom reporters so far in the process. One of the reporters attending the trial recently revealed a surprising mention of BTS.

One of the most popular true crime podcasts is Rotten Mangos, which Stephanie Soo hosts. With millions of subscribers across different platforms, it is no surprise that she was able to attend several days of the trial, which she spoke about initially on her TikTok.
@stephaniesooyt The full details are going to be in a Rotten Mango episode on Youtube/Spotify or wherever you get your podcasts tomorrow. Starting Monday it’ll be same day mini episodes of all the details.
The official video about her experience was posted online on May 11, in a nearly two hour long video.
During this video, she spoke about the jury selection process, and mentions that one of the possible jurors mentioned that she was watching the concert of BTS.
Another juror walks in and she says that her musical interests are rock, hiphop, and as well as, quote, “I’m actively watching the concert of the group called BTS or Bangan Boys.” There was nothing else notable i just wanted to say that.

While this mention may be random, the juror had a reason for the unexpected “shout out.” When selecting jurors for trials, they are asked a number of questions that may be applicable to the case. For example, in a trial involving potential capital punishment, someone who says they are against the death penalty will likely not be selected.
For this trial, musical interests do play a part in order to not have a biased view of P. Diddy, so jurors were likely asked about their interests.

To be clear, the group were not mentioned by P. Diddy or any legal representatives, but somehow still managed to be brought up.
