“Permission To Dance” is a dance-pop track that delivers the message, “You are free to dance as you wish without permission,” to everyone enduring tough days. Released during the COVID-19 pandemic, it offered warm comfort with themes of finding freedom and happiness through dancing and singing despite difficult circumstances, emphasizing that life goes on.
The music video is filled with the bright and energetic atmosphere of the BTS members. In the latter part, the seven members perform choreography incorporating international sign language alongside a crowd, conveying a deeper message of hope. The group also left a meaningful mark by performing “Permission To Dance” at the 76th United Nations General Assembly in 2021. Their performance, which moved through the conference hall, lobby, entrance, and lawn plaza, delivered positive energy to people worldwide and generated significant attention.
At the time of its release, “Permission To Dance” debuted at number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 main singles chart and stayed on the chart for seven consecutive weeks. The song earned RIAA Gold certification in the U.S. for selling over 500,000 units. The RIAA’s unit count is based on album sales, digital downloads, and streaming weight.
Recently, BTS won the “AAA 10 Legendary (Group)” award at the “10th Asia Artist Awards 2025,” held on the 6th at the Kaohsiung National Stadium. With a full-group comeback scheduled for next spring, their persistent popularity and presence have been reaffirmed, raising anticipation for their new release and upcoming world tour.
