They opened up in this interview!

BTS opened up about their new album, Map Of The Soul:7, and also talked about the biggest lessons they’ve learned ever since their debut!

In a recent interview on the Zach Sang Show, the host Zach Sang and BTS sat in a bus together, and had a heart-to-heart about many things, such as the messages they want to share with their music, and the meaning of success.

One of the questions that came up was the reasoning behind the naming of their upcoming album: why was the title designated the number 7?

RM took to explaining the very personal meaning behind the title of their album! He began by explaining how the number 7 symbolizes a lot of things for the band. One of the things that “7” stands for is BTS being comprised of 7 members.

“7” also stands for BTS going into their 7th year since their debut. BTS debuted in 2013, and are entering their 7th year of activity as musicians. RM states that the number 7 as an important part of their album can only be used now, because it coincides with their 7th year as BTS!

Another reason he laid out was the number 7 is also connected to luck! BTS wants to celebrate their luck through their new album, along with 7 members, completing their 7th year!

Zach Sang then asked them,

What is the most important thing you guys learnt as individuals, as a group? Over the last 7 years, what is the most important thing you’ve learnt?

—Zach Sang

Suga is the first to answer, saying,

There’s no growth without pain.

—Suga

Jimin gives the most wholesome answer next, saying that in 7 years, he’s learnt to appreciate those around him a lot.
