BTS’s RM Took The TOEIC English Test Again & His Score Is Blowing Everyone’s Mind

Who else wishes they could borrow RM’s brain?

If you thought BTS‘s RM was a genius when he revealed his first TOEIC score, just wait until you see the latest grade he got this year.

The Test of English for International Communications, more commonly known as TOEIC, is one of the most popular English language tests in South Korea. Most people only take the test to get into university or apply for jobs overseas, but knowledge-loving RM is one of the few people who likes taking English tests for fun.

After studying in New Zealand at 12 years old, RM first took the TEPS (Test of English Proficiency) when he was 15. He received a score of 797 out of 990, putting him in Class 2+. According to test’s grading system, his best skill was listening, and his score showed an ability to communicate at an advanced level.

Around the same time, he also sat the TOEIC exam. After scoring a near-perfect grade in listening, RM’s overall score was 850 out of 990. It’s hard to believe he could top such an impressive score, but you should never underestimate RM.

Back in July last year, RM told fans on Weverse he was taking the TOEIC again for the first time in 10 years—”just for fun“. He shared a snap of one of the questions, which asked him to analyze an English email.

Now, after all his prep, it seems RM has finally taken the real test again—and received an even more incredible score than last time. In a recent live broadcast, RM revealed his new TOEIC score is a staggering 915 out of 990.

For reference, the average TOEIC score is around 675 for South Koreans and 500 for the whole world. The most impressive part? RM actually taught himself English simply by watching the sitcom Friends.

Unsurprisingly, ARMYs on social media are mind blown by RM’s display of knowledge, with many wishing they could “borrow” his brain for their own exams.

Of course, this isn’t the first time RM has proved his genius intelligence. He also has an IQ of 148, putting him in the top 1.33% of the population. On top of that, he was ranked in the top 1% of test-takers for the CSAT—South Korea’s version of the US SAT. Whichever way you look at it, there’s no doubt RM is a true genius.
