BTS’s “Dynamite” And “Space Jam”: 4 Big Hints That Point To A Collaboration

Fan theorists might be a step ahead of the game this time.

BTS‘s upcoming single, “Dynamite” has fans hard at work connecting dots and brainstorming theories. One of these theories is that “Dynamite” is connected to the movie Space Jam: A New Legacy (2021). It’s hard to argue with evidence like this!

1. The ’90s theme

BTS’s “Dynamite” promises to be an upbeat track with a retro vibe. The members’ outfits, revealed through teaser photos, bring fans back to the golden age of boybands: H.O.T and Shinhwa in the east, Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC in the west.

In 1996, the cartoon-meets-live-action comedy, Space Jam, hit theaters. This movie follows basketball player Michael Jordan as he teams up with the Looney Tunes‘ “Tune Squad” team to win a basketball match against aliens that will decide the fate of humanity.

A sequel, Space Jam: A New Legacy will be released in 2021. Some fans predict that BTS’s all-English song “Dynamite” will be featured on the soundtrack.

2. Suga’s basketball jersey and the setting

In the group teaser photo for “Dynamite”, BTS poses in front of a basketball net.

Suga is also wearing a “Tune Squad” jersey that’s straight out of Space Jam.

Although this could simply be an aesthetic choice, Looney Tunes seems a little too excited about it!

3. Daffy Duck’s “Dynamite” (feat. Bugs Bunny)

After doing some digging, fans found this all but forgotten song by Bugs and Daffy that was released in 2010. This “Dynamite” has a mix of rapping and singing, and a ’90s hip-hop sound. If BTS’s “Dynamite” ends up being inspired by Daffy’s, act surprised!

4. Looney Tunes living their best Twitter stan life

Recently, Looney Tunes has been commenting on and about BTS content, letting their inner K-Pop fan run their Twitter account. Although many verified company accounts are going full-fangirl these days, the timing of Looney Tunes posts is a little suspicious. It just so happens to coincide with BTS’s comeback hype.

On July 26, BTS officially announced “Dynamite” in an audio-only broadcast with fans. On July 27, Looney Tunes brought back a “Jungkook as Bugs Bunny” thread for the famous rabbit’s 80th anniversary. Coincidence?

Good luck getting information from the admin though. This “intern” isn’t in the know.
