On July 31, Hyundai Motor Group‘s HMG Journal revealed that BTS‘s V purchased this luxury SUV model after filming Episode 110 of Run BTS!.

The GV80 is priced between 60.7 million won and 66.7 million won, depending on the model (2.5T, 3.0D, and the 3.5T).

Shortly after the news broke, rumors about V selling out the GV80 began to circulate on social media. While it might seem crazy for fans to spend upwards of $50,000 USD on a car because of BTS, it wouldn’t be the first time it happened.

After BTS became brand ambassadors for the Hyundai Palisade in 2019, demand for the SUV skyrocketed so fast that Hyundai struggled to keep up with the demand. Customers reportedly had to wait six to ten months for their orders to arrive.

The Genesis of Colorado website appears to be the source for most of V’s sold-out Hyundai rumors.

At first glance, the GV80 is “out of stock” on Genesis of Colorado, but the truth is that it wasn’t in stock to begin with.

The website states that details about the GV80, including its price, are “scarce”. This is because it hasn’t launched globally yet.

Because details are still scare on the 2021 Genesis GV80, we don’t have exact pricing yet. Right now, the best we can offer is that the estimated starting price of the Genesis SUV should be around $49,900 and top out around $70,950.

The GV80 was originally scheduled to hit the US market this summer, but the launch has been pushed back to the fall, due to delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Hyundai has, however, been taking reservations for the GV80 since it was released in Korea in January. So far, the GV80 has racked up well over 14,000 reservations in the US alone.

Okay, but what about in Korea? Did V sell out the GV80 in his home country? The short answer is “no”, or at least, “not yet”.

In April, Hyundai signed 30,000 of the GV80 SUVs, meaning that they’re “sold out” of the produced lot for the year, but this happened months before the news broke about V’s purchase.

Now that the word about V’s new car is out though, it’s only a matter of time before wealthy ARMYs add it to their collections!
