BTS’s Suga surprised fans after unexpectedly appearing on Weverse live with a new companion in his arms.

With barely any prior hints, the rapper revealed his cat!

During the broadcast, Suga introduced the black cat as Tang, a three-year-old male kitty with a surprisingly large build.

Tang weighs 6.4 kilograms and, according to Suga, his father was a street cat. Suga shared that he adopted Tang from a friend he knew, explaining that the decision came naturally rather than being something he had planned for a long time.

Suga also opened up about the name. He originally hoped to adopt two cats and planned to name them Seol and Tang — together meaning “sugar.” While that did not work out, Tang still kept the adorable name.

The idol described Tang as calm, affectionate, and unusually gentle. Tang enjoys kneading, often doing so on Suga’s stomach or under his arm while lying down. He especially likes being petted under the chin and on his backside, and unlike many cats, he does not strongly resist belly rubs. Suga also noted that Tang is very patient, making it easy for him to trim his nails.

Suga also revealed that Jimin is particularly fond of Tang, and the feeling is mutual!
