He suffers from a type of heat-triggered hives.

BTS‘s V recently shared something about himself that fans have been unaware of for the last six years.

On July 14, V responded to an ARMY‘s BTS Weverse post by revealing a chronic medical condition that many have never heard of: cholinergic urticaria.

No, I have a cholinergic allergy. I’m itchy, itchy.

— V

Cholinergic urticaria is an itchy skin rash that is triggered by a rise in body temperature. When the afflicted person gets too warm, their skin breaks out in hives.

Reactions range from mild itchiness to more severe symptoms such as faintness, difficulty breathing, and pain. Reactions can be triggered by any activity, clothing item, or setting that causes the body’s temperature to rise higher than what the body can tolerate, including stress.

Ever since V revealed his condition, many fans feel that they understand some of V’s past decisions more, such as his clothing choices.

Some fans have also pointed out moments where V’s members may have helped him out because of his condition.

As always, ARMYs hope that V will always put his health first and do anything he needs to do to keep himself safe. By talked about his cholinergic urticaria, V has also raised awareness about it and is inspiring many fans to find out more about it.
