Park Eun Bin's Acting In K-Drama "Castaway Diva" Sparks Mixed Reactions

TvN‘s new K-Drama Castaway Diva is receiving mixed reactions.

Castaway Diva is an ongoing romantic-comedy starring actress Park Eun Bin as Seo Mok Ha along with Chae Jong Hyeop as Kang B Geol/Jung Ki Ho and VIXX‘s N (also known as Cha Hak Yeon) as Kang Woo Hak/Jung Chae Ho.

Fifteen years after being stranded on a remote island, an aspiring singer reenters society, stopping at nothing to pursue her dream of becoming a diva.

K-Drama fans were initially excited about the new K-Drama due to Park Eun Bin, as she has proved to be a versatile actress. Last year, her K-Drama Extraordinary Attorney Woo was a hit as she portrayed the titular character, who was on the Autism spectrum. Before that, she portrayed a woman pretending to be a man in The King’s Affection. She has a reputation for taking on complex roles unlike any she has done before.

Now that Castaway Diva is underway, viewers are for once struggling to separate Park Eun Bin’s current original character from her previous work.

Many viewers feel that Park Eun Bin’s portrayal of Seo Mok Ha resembles that of Attorney Woo. The mannerisms and her walk are nearly identical to what viewers associate with Attorney Woo.

Fans have argued that she would be socially awkward since Mok Ha has been stranded on a remote island for so many years. Also, it might not necessarily be Park Eun Bin’s fault but the director’s for directing her.
