Popular K-Pop soloist Chungha has made her long-awaited comeback after taking a brief hiatus from the music scene before joining Jay Park‘s label MORE VISION.

Chungha released her single album EENIE MEENIE on March 11, with two new songs for fans to enjoy, including the title track of the same name, featuring ATEEZ‘s Hongjoong.

In an interview with GRAMMY Magazine, Chungha opened up about her decision to return to idol life, wanting to work with more artists and try different genres, navigating feedback from fans, her new start, and more.

She also explained how she came to collaborate with ATEEZ’s Hongjoong, which she revealed came naturally because she has been a fan of the popular fourth-generation boy group since their debut.

I have followed ATEEZ since the beginning of their career. Their performance is so mind-blowing, they have that special energy that only they can give, so I was always inspired by them.

When she realized her new song had a rap, she decided she wanted to have someone feature on the track instead of rapping herself, explaining it was “too new” for her to try rapping.

She shared that she knew she needed a “real rapper and real captain” on the track and found Hongjoong to be the “perfect fit.
