Controversial Chaebol Idol Changes Public Opinion With Exposing Messages
ALLDAY PROJECT‘s Annie is once again gaining attention from Korean netizens. And this time it’s finally positive.

When she first debuted, Annie faced heavy backlash after it was revealed that she comes from a chaebol family. Many accused her of having an unfair advantage and questioned whether her background played a role in her career.
Generally, public opinion around her wasn’t the best. Now, that narrative appears to be shifting.

Through recent messages sent to fans on Bubble, Annie opened up about her real daily life behind the scenes. She explained that while her videos and public content may make it seem like she is always productive, active, and living an exciting life, that is not the full picture.

“Oh, and there’s something I’ve been wanting to say! If you only watch the videos I upload or listen to what I talk about on Day Off, it probably looks like I’m always doing something fun, working out, and living super productively every single day… I love that Day Ones, especially younger fans, can watch that and feel inspired. But I really hope you don’t compare yourself and think, ‘Why can’t I spend my days like that?‘
When I was younger, I used to watch videos like that and think, ‘They’re living so diligently. Why can’t I be like that?‘ I would compare myself and end up feeling even more down…”

Annie also shared that she has many days where she struggles with motivation, stays in bed, and feels unproductive.

“But honestly, I intentionally only include the pretty and cool parts of my daily life in my videos, and there are way more days that aren’t like that. I have plenty of days where I do nothing and just stay in bed. Even today, I had been feeling unmotivated for two days and this was the first time I’d gotten out of bed in those two days.
I thought, ‘I can’t just stay like this,’ so after a few days I worked out and did my skincare, and it felt so refreshing and nice! Day Ones are probably much smarter than me and might not even think that way, but just in case! I want to be a positive source of motivation for you.”

Instead of the “perfect” image some believed she projected, Annie showed a more vulnerable and relatable side. The messages quickly spread online, with many netizens saying their views of her had changed.

- “I honestly had prejudices because of her background, but the more I learn about her, the more she seems like someone who is strong, admirable, and mentally healthy on the inside. I hope she becomes even more successful and can have a positive influence!”
- “What is this… I’m actually crying.”
- “I really had biases against her, but she feels the most like a true idol and someone who was raised well. People like this should be idols. That’s how they can have a good influence on kids.”
- “She’s so considerate and warm. She speaks so beautifully that the more I see her, the more I like her. Her natural voice tone is really nice too.”
- “She really only says beautiful things.”
