CRAVITY’s Taeyoung Joins K-Pop Fan-Created Dance Trend For BLACKPINK Lisa’s “Money”

We thought it was a fan account at first! 😂

It seems more and more each day, K-Pop idols are getting in on the fandom’s inside jokes and social media trends. Sometimes, fans have to ask themselves, “Are we sure that this isn’t a stan account as well?”

CRAVITY‘s Taeyoung is the latest idol that has made fans wonder if perhaps a fan maybe hacked the group’s official account!

If you’re on TikTok, you know that “Money” by BLACKPINK‘s Lisa has completely taken over everyone’s FYPs…

And it’s in large part due to content creator Victor (@yoongitea2).

Victor posts a variety of comedic content online focused on K-Pop, particularly on TikTok and YouTube. As an example, he has a series parodying TLC‘s reality show My Strange Addiction.

He recently went viral on TikTok with a video of himself dancing to Lisa’s “Money.” The first part of the video shows him looking sad and crying with the text “Me having a bad day.” When the beat drops, he starts doing Jessi‘s “Who Dat B” choreography, and the text changes to “Remembering that this song exists.”

This video completely blew up! As of October 12, 2021, a month after it was uploaded, it now has 47.1 million views with 7.6 million likes. He even made a second version which garnered 19.8 million views and 3.4 million likes!

These two videos helped produce a new meme within not just the K-Pop community but beyond to K-Dramas and more. It created a TikTok trend in which people would put Victor’s original video of himself dancing over top green screen videos and images along with “Money” for the audio.

This is especially popular to use for Netflix‘s Squid Game videos, so much so that some people even started to wonder if “Money” was the OST. Honestly, that would kind of make sense… Lisa’s “Money” currently has been used 1.8 million times for TikTok videos, many of which are related to Squid Game.

Now that it has completely taken over our FYPs, it is not too surprising that it would have ended up on idols’ FYPs too. That seems to be the case for CRAVITY.

Victor recently shared a video of another fan’s online fanmeeting video call with Taeyoung. In the call, Taeyoung started doing the dance popularized by Victor!

Taeyoung saw the video😭

Taeyoung must have seen that video, too, because just a couple of days afterward, he uploaded his own version of Victor’s video on CRAVITY’s official TikTok! For context, he actually had uploaded a different version originally but reuploaded it due to caption and video quality issues.

Taeyoung.

Taeyoung’s TikTok was a direct parody of Victor’s video too. In the beginning, he appeared sad before dancing Jessi’s “Who Dat B” with the beat drop from Lisa’s “Money.”

Even the text was almost the same! He surely did the original proud.

Victor also commented, giving his approval. What a successful fan he is too!

Fans couldn’t believe that Taeyong actually did it. Many thought it was a fan account, and we can’t blame them.

In Taeyoung’s reupload, he said, “I JUST HAD TO DO IT!! since yall already saw it.” He absolutely killed it! Now, it’s time for his version to join Victor’s as the newest meme among K-Pop TikTok.
