Montage Expert Exposes Full Process Of Drawing Goo Hara’s Infamous Robber
On July 18, a montage expert detective from the Daejeon Police Department appeared on tvN’s You Quiz On The Block. Jung Chang Gil was the detective who drew the montage of the suspected robber for the late Goo Hara’s case.
He revealed the entire process of drawing the thief’s montage.
At first, it was challenging to identify the eyes from the video footage. They were also wearing a mask and beanie, making it hard to identify the face. It took me a long time, and it took me a couple of days to draw it. I spent two days trying to find specific characteristics.
— Detective Jung Chang Gil
Detective Jung also stated that he could determine the age, height, weight, and physical characteristics through the security camera footage.
Looking at the height of the wall, we can estimate the criminal’s height to be 175 cm. We can also estimate his age to be in his late 20s or early 30s when he jumps over the wall because if he were older, his shoulders would have been less flexible.
— Detective Jung Chang Gil
He also pointed out that it was interesting that he wore reflective clothes while committing a crime.
Interestingly, the thief is wearing reflective clothes. Looking at his beanie, it doesn’t seem like he bought clothes specifically for the crime. Professional robbers don’t do that. They usually go through the front door because there is a high chance of a security camera.

He also suspected that there could be a possibility of an accomplice.
The suspect continued to press the door lock, making it look like he may have known something about the password. We suspect that someone could be providing information. Seeing that the safe weighed probably more than 30 kg, it’s also suspected that there could be an accomplice.

Host Yoo Jae Suk asked if reports about the thief were coming in.
Many reports have been received.
