Now, another third generation group has fans excited over a possible comeback.

In 2012, Amuse Korea, the Korean subsidiary of Japanese label Amuse Inc., announced that it would debut a multi-national boy group, CROSS GENE, including actor Shin Wonho. CROSS GENE originally consisted of three South Korean members, two Chinese members and one Japanese member, the first ever in K-Pop.

The group officially debuted on June 12, 2012 with Timeless: Begins. Over the years, the group saw slight line-up changes as they promoted, which eventually winded into more solo activities as the members began enlisting after their last Korean release in 2018.

Casper left the group before this comeback, while Takuya and Seyoung announced their departures afterward. Currently, the only member that is still active on the group’s account is Shin Wonho, with the others having all left the company.

On February 18, the group’s Instagram account shared a mysterious update featuring a photo with a question mark and the caption “What is next?”

Fans immediately noticed that previous posts on the account used only hashtags related to Wonho’s name and activities, while this new one included only hashtags related to CROSS GENE. Many were excited over the possibility of the group returning after so many years of inactivity.
