Fans Get Full Refunds For A Fansign, Sparks Debate Over Fairness
On July 2, 2024, fans who had participated in EVERLINE‘s videocall fansign lucky draw for NCT DREAM were informed of a refund. The fansign itself was held on May 23, 2024. In such cases, delivery for the albums are usually sent out a month or so after the fansign due to the bulk amounts.
The message was to inform fans who had participated in the lucky draw that they would receive full refunds for their purchases, regardless of if they won or not. This was applicable to those whose albums had been in a particular delivery truck that had caught fire. EVERLINE pledged to issue a full refund to those who were affected.
Thankfully, there did not seem to be casualties in the incident. While those who received the messages expressed their happiness at the sudden refund, others questioned the fairness of it.
- Wow, those who didn’t win must be so stressed.
- Can’t believe people are saying that this is a good thing [for the winners] when the car was burnt to a crisp.
- So, if someone sold their sold, then the seller gets the refund?
- Hope the driver wasn’t affected…
- This is actually a good thing for the fans…
- It became a situation where it’s actually better [for fans]…
- I heard that no one was injured, even though the items were burned… Although it happened because the albums were burned, those who didn’t win must be feeling so sick…
- They benefitted.
The more albums one purchases, the higher one’s chances at winning. For the winners affected by this delivery mishap, they would have been able to have their videocall with the artist for free, thus sparking the debate.
