The announcement was made through a heartfelt statement released by Celest1a’s managing company. It revealed that Seunghyun had been diagnosed with a recurrence of sudden hearing loss, necessitating an immediate cessation of all activities to focus on rest and recovery. The statement expressed deep regret for having to deliver such news and extended gratitude towards fans and everyone who has supported Seunghyun and Celest1a.

The agency clarified that the decision was not taken lightly — it was the severity of the star’s condition and the potential for worsening health that led to it after extensive discussions among members, staff, and Seunghyun himself.

The Celest1a member himself also shared a personal message to fans through the agency. In his statement, Seunghyun recounted the severe symptoms of dizziness and hearing loss he experienced while preparing for Celest1a’s new debut in Korea and Japan. Despite his best efforts, the recurrence of sudden hearing loss in his right ear, along with a decrease in clarity for low tones in his left ear, made it impossible for him to continue with the debut project.

First, I am truly sorry for not being able to share good news.

During the process of preparing for our new debut in both Korea and Japan, I experienced severe symptoms of dizziness and hearing loss in my right ear. Despite my efforts for the fans, the company staff, and my fellow members, the hearing tests confirmed a recurrence of sudden hearing loss in my right ear and a decrease in the clarity of low tones in my left ear.

The dizziness that accompanied the dance practices led to the decision that I could no longer continue with the debut project. I am currently focusing on recovering my hearing through treatment. I thought it was necessary to recover my health before I could greet my beloved fans again.
