Fans Slam EXO-CBX After Shocking Expected Outcome Of All 6 Legal Battles With SM Entertainment
EXO’s Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin are reportedly on the verge of losing all six of their legal disputes against SM Entertainment.
Despite months of investigations and appeals through various institutions, including the police, prosecution, and government bodies, the trio’s claims have repeatedly been dismissed for lack of evidence.
According to court and investigation documents obtained by Law Times, every ruling so far has sided with SM Entertainment. Authorities concluded there was no proof that SM acted unlawfully or misled the artists in any way. Courts have even criticized EXO-CBX for allegedly using legal filings to “psychologically pressure” SM rather than pursuing legitimate claims.
The conflict began in June 2023 when the three members accused SM of forcing them into unfair long-term contracts and announced their intent to terminate them. After tensions escalated, both sides reached an agreement allowing EXO’s group activities to continue under SM, while CBX and solo promotions would be handled independently through their own label, INB100. However, issues resurfaced when EXO-CBX allegedly failed to pay SM the 10% share of revenue stipulated in that agreement.
Subsequent lawsuits, counterclaims, and criminal complaints have all ended in rulings unfavorable to EXO-CBX. Both the police and prosecution rejected their fraud allegations against SM executives, while multiple court requests to access SM’s accounting records were denied. The Ministry of Culture and the Fair Trade Commission also concluded that SM had not violated any laws related to settlements or unfair contracts.
With all appeals so far dismissed — including recent rulings from the Supreme Court — fans appear dissatisfied with the way Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin have handled the situation.

The moment CBX filed a lawsuit against SM, it was clear they no longer intended to continue EXO activities, money mattered more than EXO. The fans who still insist this is all SM’s fault are just pretending not to see the truth because that’s the only way they can keep supporting them. Even if they read everything the judges said, they’d probably just turn a blind eye to it anyway.
