Fans have reacted to the recent news that boy group NINE.i will be entering an indefinite hiatus.

On December 12, the group’s social media accounts shared a notice announcing the news. According to the notice, the group will enter an indefinite pause in group activities to allow members to focus on individual activities.

Hello, this is NINE.i.

First, we would like to sincerely thank all i.ENIN who continue to support and cheer for NINE.i.

Over a long period of time, we have had in-depth discussions with the members regarding the direction of their future activities. Through this process, we have decided on a new direction that fully reflects each member’s individual strengths and desired career paths.

Accordingly, NINE.i will be transitioning to a system where the members focus primarily on individual activities, rather than group promotions, for the time being.

This decision does not mean the disbandment of the group. Rather, it is intended to lay the groundwork for the members to grow and develop across a wider range of fields.

Once again, we would like to thank all i.ENIN who love and support NINE.i, and we will do our utmost to ensure that the members show their best sides through their individual activities going forward.

NINE.i debuted as a 10 member group, but in the last 2 years has had three members depart, with two leaving after the group’s legal dispute with their former agency ended with them leaving it. Some have seen the announcement as an indirect way of unofficially “disbanding, or at least that it feels that way.

On the other hand, others have seen this as a way for the group to remain together, with a possibility for future activities.
