First-Generation Idol Shocks Netizens With A Dramatic Transformation After Weight Loss
A former member of the first-generation idol group Jewelry shocked netizens with before and after pictures of her dramatic transformation.
Jewelry was a famous K-Pop girl group that debuted in 2001, formed by Star Empire Entertainment. During their 14-year career, their hit songs included “Superstar” and “One More Time,” which became viral for its iconic “point choreography” of touching two fingers and had everybody in 2008 mimicking and parodying their dance.
On May 15, former Jewelry member Lee Ji Hyun posted a past picture of herself with a caption starting with, “You were surprised by the first picture, right?” Born in 1983, Lee Ji Hyun recently turned 40 years old.
She noted that the picture was from January 26, 2023, before confessing that after the first digit of her age changed, it was difficult to lose weight—leading her to resort to wearing stretchy skirts with elastic waists.

The following picture showed her in leggings and a sports bra, revealing her “after” body.
She claimed that because she couldn’t simply just work out, she looked for diet products and tried this and that but failed to find ones that worked for her. However, the recent “diet juice” she found seemed to work on her and helped her lose weight.

Lee Ji Hyun left Jewelry in 2006, when the group was still active, to pursue her acting career because she felt unprepared to be a singer. In an interview from 2006, Lee Ji Hyun stated that she does not regret leaving the group and does not plan on returning to a career as a singer. Since then, she has been active as a host and actress.
