G-Dragon Opens Up About Drug Accusations After 2 Years
Recently, BIGBANG’s G-Dragon appeared on Son Suk Hee’s current affairs and culture program and retraced his career while discussing various topics.
In particular, he revealed his feelings regarding the drug allegations made against him in 2023.
At the time, he denied the allegations, stating, “I have never used drugs.”
However, as suspicions rose, he submitted to a police investigation, which tested negative and cleared him of all charges. With this, he reportedly suffered emotional distress due to the speculative rumors.
On the show, he confessed his honest feelings during that time.
I didn’t want to complain about being wronged, but even though I was the victim, I had no place to express my personal opinions or feelings. I was on hiatus at the time, so things got out of hand. I don’t know how I spent those two or three months, from the end of the year to the beginning of the new year.

He went on to share that he had almost thought about retiring.
I felt empty and hopeless. That didn’t mean I was going to protest or hold a press conference to express my position. It was just painful, and the fact that I had to endure it was frustrating. I thought, is it even ok to make a comeback now? If I rest more and retire, I could be an ordinary person. But I felt there was no reason for me to do that.

He added that it was through this time that his song, “Power,” was born.
The root of the problem lies in the media. I wanted to use my power to satirize the media, hoping to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.
