GFRIEND Reveals Their Biggest Goal For This Year And It’s Not What Anyone Expected

They’re one of the most popular girl groups but they have this one wish.

GFRIEND appeared on Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook to promote their latest album, “LABRYINTH” and title track “Crossroads”. During the interview, they opened up about the upcoming years.

Yoo Hee Yeol asked the girls if they had a goal for the year 2020. Sowon confessed that their goal is to promote well, get good results, and receive an award at the end of the year ceremonies.

We want to promote well this year and gain good results, so that we can attend award ceremonies and receive an award.

— Sowon

But it’s not just for the award. Sowon clarified that they recently realized that the opportunity to attend the award shows weren’t a given but an immensely difficult feat among idols.

GFRIEND realized that any of the awards show could possibly end up be their last.

But it’s not because of a desire to win an award. Looking back to when we used to prepare a lot for the end-of-the-year award ceremonies, we realized that it wasn’t an easy feat.

It made us realize that it may be an opportunity that we won’t get ever again.

— Sowon

Yoo Hee Yeol summed up their reasoning perfectly by pointing out that GFRIEND had won the hearts of many from an early age and early point in their career. At a young age, the opportunity to attend award shows may have seemed like a given to them.

But as the girls matured, they’ve come to realize that every moment is precious and appreciative.

Sowon agreed that they don’t attend the award show just for the awards but as a celebration for another year of hard work and dedication!

GFRIEND may be one of the most popular girl groups around but these humble queens never lose sight of their roots or their appreciation for everything that they’ve earned throughout their 6 year career!

But one thing’s for certain – GFRIEND will be attending the 2020 award shows thanks to their hit track “Crossroads”!
