She’s now embraced her vocal tone fully!

(G)I-DLE‘s Yuqi is well-known for her deep and soulful vocal tone, and Neverlands love how it makes her stand out! Yuqi, however, revealed that there was a time when she was very uncomfortable with how her voice sounded!

(G)I-DLE recently sat down for an interview with Sakshma Srivastav from E Now, where they talked about their latest album, and more!

During the interview, Yuqi was complimented for her voice, and was asked to talk about how her vocals add to the strength of the group!

Yuqi commented on how the strength of the group comes from the fact that each member is different and that helps them shine together!

Actually, in our group, I think the highest point is that each member has different kinds of vocals, different kinds of styles, and different kinds of visuals, but because we combine these things in the group, that’s why I think (G)I-DLE has now become more popular and we have a lot of fans.

So, I think I just do my job and position in this group and everyone is doing that too!

She then revealed that while she loves her vocals now, she was actually very underconfident about it, until she was introduced to her members (especially Soyeon) and was able to embrace her unique tone fully!

In my opinion, I think my voice is kind of a diamond, maybe? I really love my voice, but I think I mentioned it before. Before I came to Korea, I was actually a little bit disappointed, and comfortable with my voice, because everyone was like, ‘Wow, sometimes she sounds like a boy.’

But after I came to this group…Soyeon, our leader really knew how to make my voice better, and got people to love my voice. I really appreciate it and I think everyone in the group is doing a good job. I promise we are gonna make a lot of good music, good stages in the future!
