Girls’ Generation’s Hyoyeon Always Mentions This One Idol Whenever She’s Asked Who The Best K-Pop Dancer Is

From one dancing queen to another.

Girls’ Generation‘s Hyoyeon is known as the “Dancing Queen,” and for good reason. She’s been dancing since her elementary school days and is well-versed in many areas of dance, like hip hop, jazz, popping, and Latin dance. She’s also worked with many big-name choreographers, including those of Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson.

It’s clear to anyone as soon as they watch her dance how much control she has over her body, and no matter what style she’s dancing in, Hyoyeon is consistently captivating.

With her title of “Dancing Queen,” Hyoyeon is often asked who she thinks are the top dancers in the K-Pop industry. Talent recognizes talent, so whoever she names is guaranteed to be an amazing dancer. In a recent radio appearance, Hyoyeon mentioned her favorite girl group dancers: Chungha, TWICE‘s Momo, BLACKPINK‘s Lisa, and aespa‘s Karina.

Every single idol Hyoyeon listed is an incredible dancer in their own right, each overflowing with their unique charm and style. And it’s not the first time she’s mentioned some of these idols. In the past, Hyoyeon named Chungha and Momo as juniors she’d pass the “Dancing Queen” title down to.

And during a VLIVE, Hyoyeon again mentioned Lisa, Momo, and Chungha as the best female K-Pop idol dancers.

However, if there’s one artist Hyoyeon has kept her eye on for a long time, it’s Momo. The two first met in 2016 on the dance show Hit The Stage, and ever since then, their relationship has been one of mutual admiration and respect.

Though they couldn’t collaborate on the show, both idols have expressed their desires to collaborate even years after their first meeting.

Hyoyeon’s even liked posts of Momo’s dancing on TWICE’s Instagram, including this video of Momo’s Latin dance rendition of “Alcohol-Free.” Given that Hyoyeon is also trained in Latin dance, she must have been proud of Momo’s excellent execution of the style.

On the other side of things, Momo has been a long-time fan of Girls’ Generation, even featuring in their Japanese documentary during her pre-debut days. Girls’ Generation was also the reason why she dreamed of becoming an idol.

Both Hyoyeon and Momo are powerful and beautiful dancers, and we can’t wait for the day their dance collaboration comes to fruition.
