Girls’ Generation Reveals Details For Unit Comeback in September

The Girls are back!

SM Entertainment has confirmed Girls’ Generation’s newest comeback with their 5 membered unit consisting of Taeyeon, Yoona, Yuri, Sunny, and Hyoyeon called SNSD-Oh!GG.

The official description for Oh!GG is that it combines the excitement from the word Oh! and GG, which is one of their English abbreviations, but fans have also noticed there was some clever word-play with their unit name, as Oh (오) can also mean 5 in Korean and there are 5 members. Also, Oh!GG sounds similar to the Korean word Ojida (오지다) which means intelligent and flawless with no one lacking. The members helped come up with the group name in the end.

They will be making their comeback on September 5 with their single album 몰랐니 (Lil’ Touch) which will contain 2 tracks. The title track will be of the same name as the single, “몰랐니 (Lil’ Touch)” with one other track “쉼표 (Fermata)”.

Their comeback date of September 5 (09/05) also carries special meaning as the group originally debuted with 9 members, and will be making their comeback as 5. September 5 is also exactly 1 month after their debut anniversary (08/05).

In addition to the single album, the group will also release a special Kihno album, which will be available for pre-order starting August 28.
