The much-anticipated SMTOWN LIVE concert returned to Korea, drawing impressive crowds with its equally impressive line-up of artists.
The SMTOWN LIVE concerts are a dream for SM Entertainment artist multi-stans as it gathers the company’s biggest acts under one roof for an epic night of live music.
This year was especially meaningful because the concert took place in Korea for the first time in five years, and all eight members of Girls’ Generation were able to perform together.
The leading second-generation girl group recently reunited after five years, celebrating their fifteenth anniversary and releasing their seventh full-length album.
Just yesterday, the group returned to a music broadcast show for the first time since 2017, and the fan chants from the audience were so loud it could be heard over their singing.
For the members of Girls’ Generation, their heartwarming reunion was as meaningful for them as it was for their fans.
In an interview with Billboard, Girls’ Generation’s leader Taeyeon shared that even during their time apart, focusing on individual activities, they always have each other on their mind.
I believe that our heart is always in the same place. Even if we’re making solo music or pursuing our careers as actresses, we always miss each other, and we always think of each other…whenever the members have a funny story or an account to share with the group, we always message our group chat and share with the entire team.
They proved their close friendship during SMTOWN LIVE, their fun stage was filled with adorable interactions and heartfelt moments between the members.

A touching moment between members Sunny and Seohyun caught fans’ attention. At the end of the concert, fireworks were launched around the venue. While the SM Entertainment artists were interacting with fans, Sunny and Seohyun were looking at the fireworks. Sunny began to say something to Seohyun, and the group’s maknae reached to cover Sunny’s ears.

As SONEs are likely to know, Sunny fears loud noises and explained in the past that while she’s not entirely sure, she believes it began when she and her family were Gulf War refugees in Kuwait.
I don’t know if that’s the reason, but every time I hear firecrackers, I’m scared.
Seohyun’s sweet gesture helped Sunny feel more comfortable, and it’s not the first time Seohyun has done it. She’s been helping Sunny through experiencing loud noises for years.
sunny probably be like: no seohyun no more smtown concert 🙅 since no one will protect me from that scary loud fireworks 😢 pic.twitter.com/UyC3oPmPGJ
