BamBam is also known for his unfiltered honesty, something he showed in a recent interview when he was asked about a crisis he faced.

BamBam was featured in Cosmopolitan Korea’s March edition. The idol impressed many with his many different looks, including a skirt.

During the magazine interview, BamBam got real when asked about the biggest crisis he faced in Korea and his greatest happiness. BamBam explains that the crisis moment occurred over five years ago.

There was, indeed a moment of crisis at one point. (laughs) It was over five years ago, but…I was somehow wrapped in a dating scandal. It was groundless, but I was only three years into my debut. I got so much backlash for it that I briefly even considered retiring.

According to BamBam, the rumor caught both him and the company off guard, and he cried on the set of the photoshoot he was at.

When the articles first started circulating, both my agency and I were caught off guard. It just felt so unfair that I even started crying in the middle of my photo shoot. I still remember the day crystal clear. I was on set for a NYLON pictorial. That’s when I started really investing in my savings account.

BamBam then says that he learned that dating rumors can be extremely harsh for idols, and it made him realize that he might have to “really quit this job.”

I thought, ‘This time, I won’t have to retire because the rumors are not true… but one day when I do start seeing someone, I might have to really quit this job.’ (Laughs)
