BTS is spreading the Korean culture to the world.

BTS’s Jungkook, who performed a legendary traditional mask dance performance of “Idol” at the 2018 Melon Music Awards, made headlines for its amazing combination of traditional dance and modern EDM sounds.

In response to this, the National Intangible Heritage in Jeonju, North Jeolla Province, used this clip at their special mask dance exhibition titled In High Spirit Away From Sorrows.

This exhibition focuses on the traditional Korean mask dance and will display relics, video contents and records related to the masks. The main screen of the exhibition will play Jungkook’s mask dance performance from the 2018 MMA.

The government also plans to submit an application to UNESCO after the exhibition is over for the listing of the World Intangible Heritage site.

The Korean culture of the mask and mask dance has attracted interest not only in Korea but also around the world. Jungkook’s performance has sparked this interest globally and has made a huge impact for the Korean economy.
